YouTube is testing a new feature that will allow viewers to add “Notes” to provide more context to videos

Notes will appear at the bottom of the videos when YouTube thinks they’re “broadly helpful” after analyzing user-submitted ratings. The company clarified that users can add notes to a video to “clarify when a song is meant to be a parody, point out when a new version of a product being reviewed is available, or let viewers know when older footage is mistakenly portrayed as a current event”.

The US will ban the Kaspersky antivirus software next month

The Russian software company will not be able to sell to new customers starting in July and cannot provide service to current customers after September. The US government is concerned that Kaspersky may have close ties with the Russian government.

Anthropic launched Claude 3.5 Sonnet, claiming it is more powerful than GPT-4o and Gemini 1.5 Pro

The updated chatbot also outperforms the company’s previous top-tier model, Claude 3 Opus, while working at twice the speed. Benchmark results showed Sonnet beating competitors across seven of nine overall categories and four of five vision tasks.

Asus has released updates to patch multiple high-severity vulnerabilities

Most severe of the flaws is an authentication bypass issue, tracked as CVE-2024-3080, which could have been used to enable remote infiltration of devices. Another one was a buffer overflow issue, tracked as CVE-2024-3079, and it could have been exploited to allow command execution among attackers with admin privileges to breached routers.
