Anthropic’s chatbot Claude can now search the web
Claude is getting a feature its main competitor, ChatGPT, has had for a while now. Unlike ChatGPT, there’s no dedicated “Search” button, instead users have to turn on web search in their profile settings. For now, web search only works with Claude 3.7 Sonnet.

Gemini can now turn documents into podcasts and has a new Canvas feature
The “Canvas” feature gives users an “interactive space to create and edit text documents “with changes appearing in real-time”. Users can also use Canvas for coding. Additionally, Audio Overviews, turns written content into conversational audio formats.

Google will acquire cloud security startup Wiz for $32 billion
Wiz offers an easy-to-use cybersecurity platform that works with all major clouds and code environments. This is Google’s largest deal ever, topping its $12.5 billion purchase of Motorola in 2012.

Nvidia will open a quantum computing research center
Nvidia will build a quantum computing research lab in Boston, where it plans to collaborate with scientists from Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The announcement was made by CEO Jensen Huang during the annual software developer conference in San Jose, California.
