EVA Information Security revealed that vulnerabilities have existed for the past 10 years in CocoaPods, a library management tool used in the development of iOS and macOS applications. The security researchers claim that the exploit could have led attackers to access sensitive app data such as credit card details, medical records, and private information.

OpenAI’s ChatGPT app for Mac was storing conversations in plain text
The ChatGPT desktop app for macOS allowed users to chat about emails, screenshots, files or anything from their screen. Recently, it was discovered that the app was storing all user conversations in plain text inside an unprotected file location. After this security issue was pointed out, OpenAI has updated it to encrypt the locally stored private data.

Users can now request the removal of AI-generated content mimicking them on YouTube
The company announced that it is giving people the ability to request the removal of AI-generated content that imitates their appearance or voice. YouTube will take in a variety of factors when evaluating an individual’s complaint, including whether the content is synthetic and whether or not the uploader disclosed the use of AI.
