Google is testing Android’s new theft detection feature

Using sensors and on-device models, Android phones will be able to detect if the device is snatched out of the user’s hand and the thief is running, biking, or running away with it. Theft Detection Lock will lock the phone. Now, the company is testing the feature in Brazil.

WhatsApp added new feature, including support for video calls with 32 participants

One new feature is a speaker spotlight, which automatically highlights the speaker and makes them appear first on-screen. The company is also improving screen sharing to make it easier to watch videos as a group. All of these features are promised to roll out “over the next few weeks” to all WhatsApp users.

A Disney Confluence server was hacked and 2.5 GB of internal data were stolen

Club Penguin fans reportedly hacked into Disney’s internal servers, uncovering internal data. The breach reportedly includes information, from as recently as June 2024, about Disney+, corporate strategies, advertising plans, Disney’s internal tools, and more. Bleeping Computer wrote that Disney’s servers were breached using previously exposed credentials.

Microsoft will shut down Copilot GPT Builder just four months after its launch

The tool enables customers to build and configure customized GPTs for specialized use-cases. Microsoft said that it plans to remove the ability to create GPTs starting July 10, and will then start deleting them, along with their associated data, through to July 14.

Google will shut down the Fitbit web app in July

From now on, the only way to access any Fitbit stats will be through the mobile app. There are some problems related to this decision. Firstly, there are apparently certain features from the website that aren’t currently in the mobile app, like certain advanced graphs. Second, the Fitbit app doesn’t work on tablets.
