Google will add a new end-to-end encryption (E2EE) model for Gmail

This new model is an alternative to the Secure/Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions (S/MIME) protocol. The company said that after the new E2EE model rolls out, users will be able to send fully encrypted emails to any user on any email service or platform without having to worry about complex certificate requirements.

EU is preparing to fine X up to $1 billion for breaking disinformation law

EU regulators allege that X has violated the Digital Services Act and will use a section of the act to calculate a fine based on revenue that includes the other companies that Elon Musk controls. The penalties are anticipated to be announced this summer and will include not only the fine but also demands for changes to the product.

Microsoft launched a new Windows App as a replacement for Remote Desktop

The new Windows App is a central access point for Remote Desktop, Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, and Microsoft Dev Box. Microsoft also announced that it will drop support for the Remote Desktop app (available on the Microsoft Store) on May 27.
