EU might impose further regulation on WhatsApp, as monthly users top 45 million
This increase in users means WhatsApp now qualifies as a Very Large Online Platform (VLOP) under the EU’s Digital Services Act (DSA). VLOP must carry out risk assessments on the spread of illegal or harmful content, and put in place a mitigation strategy. Fines under the DSA can reach as much as 6 per cent of a company’s annual global sales.

Elon Musk’s xAI unveiled Grok 3 AI, claiming it is capable of ‘human reasoning’
The model is on par if not better when compared on certain benchmarks to leading AI models like OpenAI’s GPT-4o and Google’s Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking. The Grok 3 series includes a reasoning model which is capable of mimicking human-like reasoning when it comes to analyzing information the user needs.

Humane is selling most of its company to HP for $116 million and will stop selling AI Pin
HP will gain access to the company’s intellectual property, talent, and CosmOS.Humane separately announced that it will immediately discontinue sales of the AI Pin, and all previously sold devices will cease functioning after February 28, 2025.

Meta announced LlamaCon, its first generative AI dev conference
Called LlamaCon after Meta’s Llama family of generative AI models, the conference is scheduled to take place on April 29. Meta said it will reveal more information about the event in “the coming weeks”.
