Anthropic’s chatbot Claude can now search the web

Claude is getting a feature its main competitor, ChatGPT, has had for a while now. Unlike ChatGPT, there’s no dedicated “Search” button, instead users have to turn on web search in their profile settings. For now, web search only works with Claude 3.7 Sonnet.

Google improved Gmail’s search with AI

The company launched a new ‘smarter search’ feature powered by AI, designed to prioritize the most relevant emails in search results, rather than just showing them in chronological order. The AI will consider factors like recency, frequently clicked emails, and frequent contacts.

Meta AI is coming to Europe

Meta announced that it will launch its AI chat function tool across the EU, despite the decision sparking regulatory questions across Europe. The company paused the launch of its AI assistant in Europe after the Irish Data Protection Commission blocked the use of data of adult users of Facebook and Instagram to train large language models (LLMs).

Nvidia will open a quantum computing research center

Nvidia will build a quantum computing research lab in Boston, where it plans to collaborate with scientists from Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The announcement was made by CEO Jensen Huang during the annual software developer conference in San Jose, California.
