Microsoft confirmed that a Russian hacker group accessed its internal systems

The group, which operates under the names Nobelium and Midnight Blizzard, initially accessed Microsoft’s systems last year through an attack where they utilized a large dictionary of potential passwords against accounts. Microsoft said the hacker group used info gained from its previous attack to try to access some of its systems. The group obtained some secrets from emails between Microsoft and some of its customers.

WhatsApp might soon display a label to specify that the chats are encrypted

The feature is currently being tested with the beta users and it will be available to more users over the coming weeks. The option is designed to make it easier for users to understand which chats are end-to-end encrypted.
